One device you need, is this bluetooth voltage analyzer and logger, it connects to the battery and graphs out the cranking voltage! It does what it says

If you're putting the laser on the floor instead of a wall straight ahead, make sure you shoot the same distance forwards and backwards, that way you counter act the variance due to the incline of the laser. 8m front, 8m back, then the calculation will be much more accurate since no error is being introduced by the camber of the tire.
